40 Saudi companies are seeking investment opportunities and direct flights in Prague
40 Major Saudi companies of different sectors are seeking the investment opportunities available in Czech republic through its participation in the “Czech- Saudi” forum that is to be held in the capital Prague at the beginning of next June and in which a group of VIP businessmen and judiciary personalities in both countries will participate.
Many economic professionals depend on this forum in raising the level of commercial exchange between Czech and Saudi Arabia in the next years, in addition to opening a new space before the Saudi businessmen to be introduced to the most distinguished opportunities especially in industries such as iron and steel, vehicles, chemicals, crystal and agriculture which represents 60% of the total area of Czech. In his statement to “Middle-East Newspaper”, Mr. Hussein Shobokshi, the honored Consul for Czech in Jeddah, said that it is confirmed now that 40 out of 80 major companies of all sectors in KSA will participate, pointing out that time is still open to increase the number of participants in the forum. Shobokshi added that the forum will host senior attendees representing both countries’ governments, business sectors, Saudi and Czech chambers. The forum will focus on offering the investment opportunities in the fields of agriculture, industry and medicine which Czech is famous for, especially the medical tourism field. He added that the forum will introduce the legal rule for both countries to the investors through worksheets which will be submitted by a group of ministers, accountants and representatives of commercial chambers, aiming that the picture would be clear and inclusive for those interested in investment, with the importance of breaking the psychological factor and fear of entering a direct investment in Czech republic.
Shobokshi also pointed out that there is a mobile exhibition for fine industries between Jeddah, Riyadh and Dubai next year that will exhibit the most important products represented in the sectors of industry, agriculture and tourism, and this is a step within a set of steps and programs that targets the Saudi market and strengthening relations between both countries in the near future as well as increasing the commercial exchange that witnessed a significant improvement last year.
Regarding the direct flights between KSA and Czech, Shobokshi affirmed that work is going on in coordination with “The Saudi Airlines” to restore the second line between Jeddah and Prague which stopped in 2004, especially after the agreement signed last year between Saudi Arabia cities and Czech republic which shall pave the way to originate flights between both countries which is expected to start at the beginning of 2015 from Jeddah to Prague.
The Saudi and Czech relations witness a significant development lately as the volume of commercial exchange increased to more than half a billion dollars after it was 300 million USD at the end of 2013. Meanwhile, the number of Saudi students studying within the program of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques for scholarships in Czech increased to 270 students after 160 students in different majors, in addition that the rate of issuing Saudi visas to Czech increased from three thousand to eleven thousand visas.
The statement of Mr. Hussein Shobokshi, the honored Consul for the Czech Republic was made in the occasion of the Czech foods week in Jeddah during which a number of programs and educational events were declared at the top of which was launching a friendly match between the Saudi Ahli club and the Czech League champion. In addition to the cultural week during which a group of the most significant novels in the Czech literature will be presented as well as some classical music pieces and many crystal and ruby stones and giving a brief summary about the spas and the mineral water in Czech
